Statement on Ballot Petition Certification

Over the past several months, I have been deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from across our community as we worked together to place this Independent, people-centered campaign on the ballot for Columbus City Council District 7. Unfortunately, after review of the submitted signatures, the Franklin County Board of Elections determined that I did not meet the required number of certified signatures to qualify for the May 6th primary ballot.

I respect the process, I believe in the power of every voice and every signature collected in support of this campaign and so that’s why I have submitted a reconsideration request to the Board of Elections. I remain committed to ensuring that the voters of District 7 have the opportunity to choose leadership that reflects their values and vision for a more inclusive, forward-thinking Columbus.

This campaign was never about a political party—it has always been about people. And no matter the outcome of this process, I remain dedicated to the work of uplifting our communities and advocating for the issues that matter most.

Thank you to everyone who has stood with me, signed a petition, knocked on doors, and shared in this journey. Your support fuels my commitment, and I will continue to fight for a Columbus that represents all of us.

Stay engaged and always stay hopeful.

More updates soon.
