Gratitude, Reflection, and Your Path Forward

Over the past several months, I have been deeply honored to embark on a journey to bring people-centered leadership to Columbus City Council. This campaign was never about party politics—it was about people, community, and the belief that every voice should matter in the electoral process.

As some were aware, the Franklin County Board of Elections denied my petition for the May 6 primary ballot, citing an insufficient number of valid signatures. Believing in fairness and transparency, I fought for reconsideration, collecting affidavits from voters confirming their intent and submitting a Writ of Mandamus to the Ohio Supreme Court to challenge the decision.

Despite this team’s efforts, the Court has ruled against reconsideration, officially bringing this campaign to a close. While this was not the outcome we had hoped for, I remain proud, grateful, and energized by the support of so many people who believed in this vision for a stronger, more inclusive Columbus.

Thank You!

I want to express my deepest gratitude to every person who:
✅ Signed my petition;
✅ Knocked on doors or canvassed in the streets;
✅ Helped collect signatures or spread the word;
✅ Engaged in meaningful conversations;
✅ Offered words of encouragement along the way;
✅ Supported via donation!

Your belief in this campaign has meant everything to me. Even though this chapter closes, our shared commitment to making Columbus better doesn’t end today.

While I will not be on the ballot in 2025, I urge you all to stay engaged in local politics. The decisions made at City Hall, the Statehouse, and beyond directly affect our daily lives, and our voices must continue to be heard.

Get involved. Ask questions. Show up to meetings. Support candidates who reflect your values. Most importantly, VOTE!

Governing Should Always Be About People, Not Party

Politics should never be about party loyalty—it should always be about people, problem-solving, and progress. Local government works best when it listens to the community it serves. This campaign may be ending, but the mission to create a Columbus that is inclusive, equitable, and forward-thinking continues.

I am proud of what we did together, the people we inspired, the changes we’ve made, and I remain committed to finding ways to contribute to this city, advocate for meaningful change, and support efforts that uplift our communities.

Thank you for standing with me. Thank you for believing in a better Columbus.

With gratitude,

Densil
